Threshold

It's 2035, and humanity has everything it ever wanted. Almost.

The world we've built

We've fixed almost everything.

Free energy. Disease undone. Ageing itself, outpaced. Work has become a thing you choose. There's never been a better time to be alive.

A hospital corridor wall of live data: cancer mortality falling, longevity expectancy rising across the world
And for a while, it's felt like enough.
And yet
At a time when we've eliminated almost every threat —
people have never been more afraid. And no one can say of what.
The answer people reach for says we weren't built for paradise — that a creature given everything comes apart.
The answer

So Meridian built Sable.

A ring that reads you. A patch that answers. A steady mind in an unsteady age. It works. Almost everyone wears it now.

The Sable device: a translucent hexagonal patch glowing green, pressed onto a forearm, worn with a matching green ring
Sable · the ring and the patch
Then, for reasons nobody understands, some people have stopped needing it.
They should be falling apart, but they're the most alive people you'll ever meet, and no one can say why.
